As networks of exchange grew and intensified in the period 1200-1450 CE, more people traveled long distances across Afro-Eurasia. Some of these travelers published books about their experiences, which inspired more travelers to follow in their footsteps. These books also give historians a glimpse into the lives and cultures of people in this period.
