In the year of 1848, there were several revolts against monarchs across Europe. Included in these revolutions were uprisings in France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, the Austrian Empire, and others. Ultimately, all of the failed and ended in repression for the revolutionaries. The revolts were fragmented and had no coordination between each other, but they revealed consistent demands for more representation in government and other issues related to the working class.
