DACA, or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, is a policy created by the Obama administration in 2012 that allows certain undocumented immigrants who arrived in the United States as children to receive a renewable two-year period of deferred action from deportation. This program was established to protect these individuals, often referred to as 'Dreamers', and enable them to work legally in the U.S. without fear of removal, addressing the unique circumstances they face as they have grown up in America.
