Globus pallidus

Definition

The globus pallidus is a subcortical structure located in the forebrain, part of the basal ganglia, involved in the regulation of voluntary movement. It plays a critical role in controlling movement by influencing other parts of the brain, such as the thalamus and motor cortex.
