Unit 8 – Cold War & Decolonization (1900-Present)
Topic 8.4
How did the outcomes of Communist land reform policies differ between Vietnam and East Germany after WWII?
In Vietnam collectivization resulted in initial agricultural productivity decline, while in East Germany it led to near total state control of farmlands.
Both countries saw immediate agricultural productivity increase as a result of land reforms.
Only in Vietnam did the government take control of all farmland after implementing land reforms.
Land reform policies weren't implemented in East Germany unlike Vietnam.
