5 Must Know Facts For Your Next Test

  1. Hyperopia can be corrected with convex lenses, such as in eyeglasses or contact lenses.
  2. Common symptoms include difficulty focusing on close objects, eye strain, and headaches.
  3. It is often diagnosed through a comprehensive eye examination that includes refraction assessment.
  4. Pharmacologic agents like cycloplegic drops may be used during an eye exam to temporarily paralyze the ciliary muscle and ensure accurate measurement of refractive error.
  5. Untreated hyperopia in children can lead to amblyopia, commonly known as lazy eye.
