Definition

A Marxist is someone who adheres to the political, economic, and social theories of Karl Marx, which primarily argue that societies progress through a class struggle between the bourgeoisie (capitalist class) and the proletariat (working class), leading towards a classless society where property is publicly owned. These theories critique capitalism and support revolutionary action to overthrow this system in favor of socialism and eventually communism.
