The survey method is a research technique that involves asking many participants a fixed set of questions about their attitudes, beliefs, behaviors, or characteristics.

In research terms, this refers to the entire group that researchers are interested in - for example all high school students in a country.

Sample:

A subset selected from a larger population for study. For example, 1000 high school students randomly selected from across the country would be your sample if you're studying all high school students nationwide.
