Definition

Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) is a surgical procedure in which electrodes are implanted into specific areas of the brain. These electrodes deliver electrical impulses to regulate abnormal brain activity and alleviate symptoms of certain neurological and psychiatric conditions, including Major Depression.
