Definition

Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) is a mental disorder characterized by an excessive preoccupation with one's perceived flaws or defects in appearance. Individuals with BDD may engage in repetitive behaviors or rituals (e.g., excessive grooming, seeking reassurance) or experience significant distress due to their concerns about their physical appearance.
