Melanin is a natural pigment found in most organisms, responsible for the coloration of skin, hair, and eyes in humans. It provides protection against ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun.
Cells located in the basal layer of the skin's epidermis that produce melanin.
Ultraviolet (UV) Radiation: A form of electromagnetic radiation that comes from the sun and can cause skin damage and cancer.
Albinism: A genetic condition characterized by a lack of melanin production, leading to little or no color in the skin, hair, and eyes
