Ischemia

Definition

Ischemia is a condition where there is insufficient blood flow to tissues, leading to a shortage of oxygen and nutrients necessary for cellular function. This can result from blockage or narrowing of blood vessels, affecting the cardiovascular system's ability to maintain adequate circulation.
