Definition

Hyperphosphatemia is an abnormally high level of phosphate in the blood, often resulting from kidney failure, excessive dietary intake of phosphate, or certain metabolic disorders. It can disrupt fluid and electrolyte balance, potentially leading to muscle and neurological problems.
