Golgi apparatus

Definition

The Golgi apparatus is an organelle found in most eukaryotic cells that is responsible for modifying, sorting, and packaging proteins and lipids for secretion or delivery to other organelles. It consists of a series of flattened, stacked pouches called cisternae.
